Go to Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome
If you want to make it easy, create your Google Analytics account first at https://analytics.google.com/. Then you will be able to verify your account through the analytics tags added to your website.
Once you log in, do the following.
- Add a Property then add your website link in the popup.
- Next, you’ll need to verify site ownership. The easiest way is to verify through prior Google Analytics setup.
- Alternatively, you can use the HTML tag and add a meta tag to your site header code.
- To use the HTML tag to verify, copy the meta tag
- In a new window or tab, log into your website administration ( yourwebsite.com/admin ).
- In the admin navigation go to Site Setup and select Site Settings from the dropdown.
- In the Custom Code tab, paste the Google code into the Verification, analytics or custom header code field.
- Save your settings.
- Back over in Google window/tab click the verify button.
- If you have done the steps correctly, your site will show in the list of websites in the upper left corner.
